Ukrainian Wheat and Corn Prices See Significant Increase.
Price Hikes on Ukraine's Agricultural Market
According to Novyny.live: Prices for food-grade and feed wheat, as well as corn, have risen in Ukraine's agricultural market. While the cost of Class 2 wheat has remained stable, the price per ton of feed wheat has increased.
The price of Class 2 wheat is fluctuating between 9,600 and 10,600 hryvnias per ton. Meanwhile, feed wheat costs between 8,800 and 10,100 hryvnias per ton. At Ukrainian ports, prices for food and feed wheat have risen by $1 to $3, now ranging from $212 to $219 per ton. This increase occurs against a backdrop of stable prices for Class 2 wheat.
Corn and Rapeseed Price Trends
Corn prices are also on the rise. The average price per ton of corn in Ukraine now exceeds 9,000 hryvnias. Over the last eight days, corn prices have either increased or held steady, indicating an upward trend in cost.
It is also worth noting that rapeseed prices in February were $550 per ton, equivalent to 21,412 hryvnias. Overall, the agricultural market is showing signs of price growth, which could influence future pricing policies in Ukraine. As a major global grain exporter, price shifts in Ukraine can have international repercussions.
The rising costs for these key agricultural commodities may be linked to various factors, including shifting demand on international markets, the impact of weather conditions on yields, and domestic economic trends. These factors could significantly affect Ukraine's agricultural sector, which is a cornerstone of the country's economy. Given this, farmers and policymakers must closely monitor market changes to adapt their strategies amid ongoing instability.
