Technical Glitches at Meta Presentation: Zuckerberg Struggled with AI Glasses

According to Korrespondent.net: During the annual Meta Connect conference, Mark Zuckerberg presented new models of Ray-Ban Meta Display glasses equipped with a built-in display and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as a neural bracelet. However, during his presentation, there were two technical glitches when Zuckerberg showcased the capabilities of the new gadgets. This was reported by Business Insider.

Technical Glitches on Stage

The first incident occurred when Zuckerberg invited culinary blogger Jack Mansuzo to demonstrate how to make a steak sauce using an AI assistant in the glasses. An issue arose on the screen: the system got stuck on one step and did not respond to the user's requests. The audience, interested in the developments, supported the team with applause, viewing this as technical difficulties.

The second incident happened during the demonstration of video calls. Zuckerberg attempted to answer a call from Meta's technical director, Andrew Bosworth, using gestures, but the system did not respond. As a result, the situation had to be resolved manually. Bosworth acknowledged the problem and jokingly noted the 'terrible Wi-Fi'.

Positive Reaction to the Presentation

Despite the technical hiccups, overall, the presentation received a positive reaction from the audience.

The new Ray-Ban Display glasses with built-in displays allow users to receive notifications and navigate right before their eyes.

The neural bracelet is designed to control devices via micro-gestures.

The sale of the new AI glasses will begin on September 30 at a price of $799.

It should be noted that shareholders of Meta accuse the board of directors, led by Mark Zuckerberg, of negligent management, which they believe led to significant fines for user privacy violations.

Meta refused to sign the EU AI Code of Practice.

Thus, although the technical problems during the presentation came as an unpleasant surprise, the new technologies promise significant opportunities for users. The glasses and neural bracelet could change the way people interact with information and technology, but it remains to wait for their official launch and see how they will fit into consumers' everyday lives.
