Denmark’s Latest Military Support for Ukraine: What’s Inside the New Package

According to UATV: On June 30, Denmark announced its 30th military aid package for Ukraine, valued at approximately €600 million. This marks another major contribution from Copenhagen as the conflict continues to shape European security.

The funding will be allocated to several key areas:

  • procurement of ammunition;
  • weapons systems;
  • military equipment;
  • training programs for Ukrainian soldiers.

A notable feature of this package is that one-third of the funds will be channeled through the so-called 'Danish model,' which directs purchases to Ukraine’s domestic defense industry. This approach not only supplies immediate military needs but also bolsters Ukraine’s long-term capacity to produce its own weaponry.

Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus emphasized the strategic stakes, stating: 'Europe’s defense begins in Ukraine. That is why the government is fully committed to continuing its support for Ukraine.'

This latest tranche of aid underscores the sustained commitment of Western allies—particularly Denmark—to Ukraine’s fight. By prioritizing the 'Danish model,' the package also highlights a dual focus: delivering critical arms while strengthening Ukraine’s own defense industrial base, which could enhance both its economic resilience and military self-reliance over the long term.
