Discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos
According to UATV: The World Economic Forum, which commenced on January 19 in Davos, is addressing critical issues of security, economic development, and Ukraine's recovery against the backdrop of Russian aggression. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that support for Ukraine must be a top priority for allies across Europe. He stated:
“Ukraine must remain a priority for Europe, irrespective of other international disputes.” - Mark Rutte.
The forum features numerous world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who arrived in Davos on January 22. The head of Ukraine's delegation, Rustem Umerov, is also participating in discussions aimed at supporting the nation as it faces challenges from Russia's aggression. Other notable participants at the forum include:
- President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki
- President of Finland, Alexander Stubb
- President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda
- Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković
Speaking at the forum, Karol Nawrocki stressed that the problem of Russian aggression against Ukraine is crucial not only for Poland and NATO's eastern flank but for the entire free world. Alexander Stubb, in turn, noted that this war has become a “complete strategic failure” for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Gitanas Nausėda expressed the view that the aggressor is seeking to buy time for further attacks on Ukraine, while Andrej Plenković added that Ukraine could form the foundation of a new European security architecture. The forum underscores the high-level diplomatic focus on the ongoing conflict, which has reshaped European security policy.
The Significance of International Solidarity
Thus, the Davos forum has served as a platform for debating critically important issues concerning support for Ukraine and its recovery, highlighting the necessity of international solidarity in the face of contemporary challenges.
The participation of global leaders at the forum reflects growing attention to security problems in Europe and the need to consolidate efforts to support Ukraine.
