DBR revealed the scheme of illegal updating of data in military recruitment centers: details of the operation.
DBR exposed officials in an illegal scheme of updating military data
According to inkorr.com: Detectives of the State Bureau of Investigations discovered a scheme in which two officials of the military command were carrying out illegal updates of military accounting data in two territorial recruitment and special operations centers located in Volyn and Kyiv.
According to the information received, in January 2025, one of the lieutenant colonels participated in activities related to entering data into the 'Oberih' register for a prior payment of 4 thousand US dollars.
After a successful transaction, the lieutenant colonel approached his superior with a proposal to create a 'business' on draft dodgers not through the capital recruitment center but through the Volyn one, where his boss had connections. The colonel agreed to this proposal and established contact with one of the Volyn recruitment centers.
A total of four cases of entering illegal data were identified. Charges are brought based on Article 28 part 2 and Article 369-2 part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case has been sent to court, where this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
The DBR investigation shows how officials abused their powers for personal interests, violating legislation and endangering state security. Procedural actions in this case are ongoing, and all circumstances and involved persons are being thoroughly checked.
This case highlights the importance of combating corruption in military structures, as the abuse of power not only harms the state but also discredits the integrity of the defense system. The next steps in the investigation will determine the future fate of the accused and may serve as a warning to other officials about the inadmissibility of such actions.
