Deputy in Odesa Region Suspected of Hiding Business and Assets: What the NACP Found.
The National Agency for Corruption Prevention suspects Alexander Pylypenko, a deputy of the Bereziv City Council in the Odesa region, of inaccurate declaration. According to the agency, the politician did not include information about his business and numerous vehicles owned by his wife in the documents.
Journalists from the 368 publication reported that Alexander Pylypenko did not mention in the declaration a residential building with an area of 176.1 m² and a land plot with an area of 920 m² that belong to his wife. The deputy also failed to mention ownership of the business and vehicles belonging to his family.
Moreover, Pylypenko did not indicate his participation in several companies, including LLC 'Ukrzerno Trade 1' and LLC 'Agro DIS'. Another inappropriate detail was the absence of a declaration for the vehicles that actually belong to his wife.
The NACP has already sent the materials to law enforcement agencies, and the deputy could face from 2 to 5 years of imprisonment for inaccurate declaration. This has become yet another case of legal violation among Ukrainian officials who face the consequences of their dishonesty.
