Diversants infiltrated Sumy region: did the border guards manage to stop the breakthrough.
In the Sumy region, border guards and soldiers stopped the breakthrough of a sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) from Russia. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the group, consisting of ten saboteurs, attempted to illegally cross the border but was stopped by the fire of a mortar unit.
During counter-sabotage operations, Ukrainian soldiers managed to push back the Russians. The group, through joint efforts, prevented the occupiers from establishing themselves in Ukraine.
We remind that Russian soldiers have deployed small infantry units in northern Sumy region, in addition to the SRG.
Also, mandatory evacuation has been announced in the Sumy region from eight settlements. This decision was made by the Defense Council of the Sumy region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 543 people have been evacuated.
