Fuel Price Forecast for Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Serhiy Kuyun, director of the A-95 consulting group, predicts stable gasoline prices but rising diesel costs due to a European shortage. Currently, wholesale diesel trades near 82 UAH per liter, while retail stations charge about 73 UAH. Forecasts indicate diesel could reach 80 UAH per liter by the week's end. This comes as Ukraine's fuel market remains sensitive to global supply chain pressures.

'For gasoline, I think it will be more or less stable.' — Serhiy Kuyun

He emphasizes, however, that 'the main problem now is diesel, and it will rise.' Given the current situation, the expert is confident that 'the price will definitely gravitate toward 80 by the end of the week.'

Geopolitical Factors Impacting the Market

Additionally, Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the parliamentary finance committee, has warned that oil prices could climb to $200 per barrel. This potential surge may result from the prolonged conflict in the Middle East, which is affecting global oil markets. Thus, market factors, including the geopolitical situation, could significantly impact fuel prices in Ukraine, especially for diesel, which is already under pressure from rising demand.

The situation in Ukraine's fuel market suggests gasoline price stability may be temporary, as diesel faces serious challenges from the supply shortage. Rising international oil prices driven by geopolitical factors could worsen the outlook. Amid growing demand and supply instability, consumers should prepare for potential changes in fuel costs in the near future.
