Ukrainian servicemen are entitled to additional leave under certain circumstances. If they do not exercise this right, they can receive monetary compensation.

This is stated in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 702.

Grounds for additional leave in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In addition to regular leave, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the right to additional leave. There are several grounds for this - for example, having two children under 15 years of age, a child with a disability, or an adopted child. Also, if military parents are raising their child themselves, they can also take this leave.

Duration and compensation for additional leave

The duration of additional leave depends on the number of grounds the serviceman has. If there is one ground, the leave lasts for 10 days; if there are multiple grounds, it lasts for 17 days. If the serviceman does not use this leave, he can receive monetary compensation. All this is regulated by Law No. 4470-IX.

We remind you that we previously wrote about when a serviceman can go on their first leave after mobilization.

Additionally, we reported on how leave is granted to servicemen in 2025.
