Trump wants to end the war in Ukraine at any cost: motives of the USA revealed.
According to ТСН: The President of the USA and his desire to end the war in Ukraine
The President of the United States Donald Trump intends to end the war in Ukraine by any means possible, as the failure of these negotiations could negatively impact his personal ambitions and political reputation in the country. This opinion was expressed by diplomat and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
Klimkin emphasizes that the American side will seek to reach an agreement by any possible means. He notes:
‘For them, this is a matter that is personally important for Donald Trump's ego, which is important in the context of the upcoming (midterm - ed.) elections next year in the United States.’
The diplomat reminds that Trump publicly promised a quick end to the conflict. Failure in negotiations will allow his opponents to accuse the President of the USA of being unable to fulfill one of the most important election promises, which would be unacceptable for his political image.
Klimkin also believes that the USA seeks to restore economic ties with Russia and large business projects. At the same time, in his opinion, Putin realizes the importance of agreements, but not at any cost, as he cannot afford to appear as the loser.
He adds:
‘Putin understands that the situation in the USA may change. If the control over Congress passes to the Democrats as a result of the midterm elections, this will mean a different political structure in the States. His tactic is to reach agreements specifically with Washington. He wants to exclude us and Europeans from this agreement. So that the USA imposes this on us and, respectively, that part of Europe.’
At the same time, it was previously reported about another step by the USA towards Russia regarding oil assets abroad. This indicates that the American authorities are looking for ways to normalize relations with the Kremlin against the backdrop of escalating conflict in Ukraine.
Thus, the situation remains tense, as the USA tries to balance between the desire for peace in the region and domestic political challenges related to elections. Negotiations may become crucial in determining the future for both Ukraine and US-Russian relations.
