A Vinnytsia resident was detained for transporting military conscripts: how much he received for the trip.
A driver from Vinnytsia was detained while transporting three military conscripts across Odesa to the border without official permits. He now faces imprisonment. This was reported by the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Details of the case
The 27-year-old driver collaborated with the admin of a Telegram channel, which indicated the route. The trio of passengers paid the organizer $20,000 for the transportation and another $1,000 to the driver.
What punishment awaits
The driver has been charged with illegal transportation of persons across the border, for which he could face up to 5 years in prison. The court set bail at 242 thousand hryvnias. The passengers face a fine of up to 8,500 hryvnias or administrative arrest for 15 days.
It is worth noting that recently a law enforcement officer was reported to have been sent to prison for a similar violation. There was also information published about the transportation of men to Moldova for $2,100.
Ukrainian police continue to fight against illegal transportation across the border. Passengers and drivers should avoid cooperating with organizers of such operations to avoid serious legal consequences.
