Activists doused Van Gogh paintings in protest against government policy
Climate activists of the Just Stop Oil movement have once again staged a protest by dousing Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. This happened after two activists were sentenced to prison for a similar protest earlier. This was reported by the BBC.
At the "Poets and Lovers" exhibition at the National Gallery, three protesters poured soup on the paintings. Fortunately, the artworks were not damaged. However, among the targeted objects was Van Gogh's painting "Sunflowers".
The video of the incident was published on the Just Stop Oil movement's page, where the activists explain their actions. They claim that people are in prison for demanding an end to oil and gas extraction, which is current government policy. This protest is a response to the ongoing political pressure and subversive actions.

Earlier in the UK, Just Stop Oil activists were also sentenced for a similar protest when they doused Van Gogh's painting "Sunflowers" in the National Gallery of London.
It should be noted that eco-activists also staged a protest in one of Stockholm's museums by smearing paint on the painting of French artist Claude Monet "The Artist's Garden at Giverny" located in the National Museum of the country.
