According to ITC.ua — Техно: New research from LG Display has revealed how monitor refresh rates directly impact in-game performance. The study involved 31 adult male gamers who tested different refresh rates including 60Hz, 240Hz, 360Hz, and 480Hz. The findings showed clear differences in gaming results depending on the refresh rate used.
Higher Refresh Rates Lead to Better Accuracy
At 480Hz, participants achieved 38% more successful hits on targets compared to 60Hz. This indicates that increasing the refresh rate can significantly improve player performance. Upgrading from 240Hz to 480Hz also brought a 10% improvement. Input lag dropped by over 10 milliseconds at 480Hz versus 60Hz, which can further enhance the gaming experience.
LG Display stated: 'The percentage of winning hits increased by 38% at 480Hz compared to 60Hz.'
The company sees these results as evidence that gaming performance continues to improve as refresh rates rise. This highlights why choosing a high-refresh-rate monitor matters for achieving better results in games.
