Moscow’s Propaganda Falsely Claims Destruction of Ukrainian Robot Units: The Truth Behind the Orikhiv Battle.
Battlefield Update on the Orikhiv Axis
According to Espreso.tv: In the Zaporizhzhia region, specifically along the Orikhiv front, Russia’s Ministry of Defense has alleged that two Ukrainian ground combat robots were destroyed during an assault. According to Moscow, both machines were eliminated before reaching their objectives. However, Ukrainian unmanned ground systems continue to operate on the battlefield with no losses reported from Kyiv’s side.
Two robotic combat platforms were deployed in the Orikhiv sector of Zaporizhzhia. Despite Russian claims of their destruction, Ukrainian forces are still actively using their ground robotic systems, which include:
- NRK 'Ratell'
- 'Termit'
- 'Ardal'
- 'Rys'
- 'Zmiy'
- 'Protektor'
- 'Volya'
These systems have already completed over 22,000 missions at the front lines.
How Combat Tactics Are Evolving
In April 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces had, for the first time in this war, captured an enemy position using only unmanned platforms. This milestone highlights a major shift in battlefield tactics and the growing reliance on advanced technology in military operations. The 'Highland Predators' battalion of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade continues to carry out missions on the front, demonstrating adaptation to the changing nature of warfare.
These developments underscore the increasing use of drone and robotic technologies in combat, which could fundamentally alter the conflict’s dynamics. Such innovations in tactics and equipment, particularly the introduction of ground combat robots, allow Ukrainian forces to boost operational effectiveness. As part of Ukraine’s broader military strategy, continued integration of new technologies will be a critical factor in efforts to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
