Exports of Ukrainian Grain Fell by 28%: Key Figures of the New Season.
Decrease in Grain Exports from Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Since the beginning of the marketing year 2025/2026, grain exports from Ukraine have decreased by 28%, amounting to 5.82 million tons. This is a significant decline compared to last year.
Details of Export Deliveries
Wheat constitutes the largest share of exports – 4.02 million tons, which is also 28% less than in the same period last year. Barley exports have halved – from 1.24 to 791 thousand tons, and corn exports have tripled down, from 2.66 to 893 thousand tons.
Additionally, since the beginning of the new marketing year, Ukraine has not exported rye. There has also been a 24% decrease in flour exports – from 17.4 thousand tons to 13.2 thousand tons.
Reasons for the Export Reduction
The reduction in grain export volumes is explained by the consequences of Russian aggression, which has negatively affected sown areas, yields, and logistics. Despite these difficulties, the agricultural sector of Ukraine continues to supply grain to international markets, helping to maintain global food security.
This situation highlights the current challenges faced by Ukrainian farmers. In wartime conditions, it is important to maintain production volumes and seek new markets for sales, as food security relies on the stability of exports. Authorities and businesses must work together to improve infrastructure and increase the efficiency of logistic routes.
