The Ethics Commission of LNU Reviewed Allegations of Harassment Against Professor Yosyp Los.
The Ethics Commission of Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko reviewed allegations against Professor Yosyp Los of sexual harassment. Kateryna Rodak, a former student, claimed inappropriate behavior from the lecturer. He states that this is an attempt to discredit the university and the country. Yosyp Los did not deny the allegations but noted that he does not remember the student.
Students support Kateryna Rodak and assert that the professor's professional achievements do not matter in this situation. They point out the fear of victims that prevents them from seeking help.
The Dean's office of the journalism faculty suspended Yosyp Los from teaching after the allegations. Faculty members have divided opinions: some support the professor, while others claim that the victims had issues documenting the situation. The Ethics Commission did not make a decision, and the next meeting is scheduled for March 3.
This is not the first case of allegations against university lecturers for sexual harassment. Previously, a lecturer from another university was suspended until the completion of the service check. Women have started sharing their experiences on social media.
