NATO has increased ammunition production sixfold: how this will affect support for Ukraine.
According to FREEДOM:
Europe has increased ammunition production
European countries are currently producing six times more ammunition than two years ago. This information was announced by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on August 27 during the opening of the largest artillery shell production plant in Germany's Unterlüß, as reported by FREEДОМ.
Rutte emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of production and the need to increase it even further, particularly in the context of cooperation with NATO partners, including Ukraine.
“The challenges we face, and those that Russia and China pose to NATO, will not disappear anytime soon. To accelerate the production of urgently needed weapons, we can rely on our experience in ramping up shell output. And we can learn from Ukraine's innovations. We need to restart some of our non-operational production lines, develop faster production processes, and purchase components so that when orders come in, they can be delivered more quickly,” emphasized the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Informal meeting of EU defense ministers
It has also been reported that EU defense ministers will meet in Copenhagen (Denmark) on August 28-29 to discuss increasing military support for Ukraine and aiding the Ukrainian defense industry.
These initiatives indicate a growing attention from Europe to security and defense issues, particularly in the context of the armed conflict in Ukraine. The increase in ammunition production and support for Ukraine have become important areas of joint work for EU and NATO countries in light of modern challenges. Such measures can significantly impact the situation on the front and strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
