The President of the European Council called on the EU to support Ukraine in the war against Russia
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated that Russia's war in eastern Ukraine threatens every European. He stated that the European Union will fulfill its commitments regarding the establishment of peace in Ukraine. He also condemned Russia's actions as a violation of international law.
"This war is a direct threat to the people of Ukraine and to every one of us. The European Union has supported Ukraine and will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. We will fulfill our promise of freedom and solidarity. We are committed to achieving a just and lasting peace, as outlined in the UN Charter," said Michel.
Charles Michel also noted that the European Union upholds universal international law worldwide. He compared the situation with Russia to Iran's actions in the Middle East, pointing to the threat they pose to the world and support for terrorist groups.
The President of the European Council also called on China to influence Russia and adhere to international law. He emphasized the need to expand supply routes and reduce risks.
