Specialist named the date of appearance of veterinary passports in 'Diia'.
The work on the Unified State Register of domestic animals is almost completed, and its official launch will take place in the near future. This was reported by Kateryna Soloviova, a project representative.
Large-scale testing completed
The reform in the field of handling domestic animals is ready for launch after large-scale testing of the register by 20 veterinarians in different regions of Ukraine. The practical use of the system has shown readiness for mass implementation.
Veterinary passports in the Diia app
The next step after registration will be the display of veterinary passports in the mobile app Diia. This will be possible after the register is filled with information about the animals. The electronic passport will replace the paper one and significantly simplify travel with animals across Ukraine.
Advantages of electronic accounting
This register is aimed at countering the growth of stray animals and combating rabies. Electronic accounting will allow storing data about animals in a single system and provide the following advantages:
- Restoration of animal documents;
- confirmation of ownership;
- simplification of finding missing animals;
- display of the veterinary passport on the smartphone.
The register will also be integrated with the Europetnet search system, which will solve the problem of traveling abroad with pets.
Launch in autumn
The exact date of the register launch is currently unknown, but it is scheduled for the autumn of 2024. The entry of information about animals will be free in veterinary clinics across Ukraine.
Let us remind you that a case of dog hunting has been revealed in Kharkiv, where an animal rights activist became the supplier of animals. A case has been opened against him for cruelty to animals.
