A French court has ruled in the case of convicting surgeon Joël Le Scouarnec to 20 years for systematic sexual abuse of patients, including children. The victims believe this sentence is too lenient, as the geriatrician committed horrific crimes.
'I am a pedophile if I enjoy it; I am perverted if I do not advise on it,' Le Scouarnec acknowledged in his records.
The court's ruling prohibited Le Scouarnec from being released early after serving two-thirds of his sentence, as well as practicing medicine and contacting minors. After the verdict was announced, many victims expressed their outrage and disappointment, while the spectators in the courtroom did not hide their emotions.
