Interpipe's Luka Zanotti: Ukrainian metallurgy needs rapid integration into Europe.
According to ТСН: General Director of Interpipe Luka Zanotti shared his thoughts during a business panel at the 8th German-Ukrainian Economic Forum, which recently took place in Berlin.
According to the company's press service, the discussion also included the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Katharina Reiche, and the Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sobolev. The prospects for the development of the Ukrainian economy were discussed, focusing on European integration and the possibilities of support for the manufacturing, energy, and high-tech sectors from Europe.
The importance of integration and competition
“Ukrainian metallurgists have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, which is a defining trait of the Ukrainian people. However, to develop and become one of the drivers of reconstruction, Ukraine needs smooth and rapid integration into Europe and a coordinated energy policy. It is also important to ensure equal competitive conditions with China in the Ukrainian market and address the issue of labor shortages. In this context, in my opinion, the industry as a whole can play an important role in reintegrating demobilized veterans into civilian life,” Zanotti noted.
Discussion of cooperation between countries
At the forum, representatives of German and Ukrainian businesses, along with high-ranking officials from both countries, explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Among the main topics, issues of resilience, the role of the private sector in the reconstruction of Ukraine, the transformation of the defense industry, and the prospects for further development of cooperation between countries were discussed.
The importance of this forum lies in the fact that it became a platform for discussing key aspects of cooperation between Germany and Ukraine. Given the current challenges, such meetings help find new solutions to common problems and open doors for investment and business development in both countries.
