General Cavoli explained what Putin is capable of.
Russian actions threaten NATO allies
The Commander of the NATO Balanced State Operation in Europe, Christopher Cavoli, emphasized that Russia threatens not only Ukraine but also NATO allies. He highlighted this during a speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Cavoli noted that Russian actions and statements reflect Russia's ambitions related to its geographical borders.
Cavoli also pointed out that Russia claims special threats to other states and NATO allies and expresses dissatisfaction with the world order. Furthermore, Russia plans to increase its army and create larger military structures near NATO countries' borders. It is also undertaking destabilizing actions throughout Europe to demonstrate its strength.
According to Cavoli, Russia continues to build its army despite losses, indicating its ability to respond to threats and recover. Currently, the situation in NATO is better than before, as the alliance has detailed defense plans and political attention to existing threats. NATO and EU member countries actively support Ukraine and respond to threats together.
