Over 100,000 Russian soldiers in the Pokrovsk direction: assessment by the General Staff.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
According to ТСН: Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov reported that in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy continues to concentrate its forces and create conditions for new attacks. Currently, over 100,000 Russian soldiers are trying to strengthen their presence and complicate the defense of the city.
This was stated by Andriy Hnatov in an interview with LIGA.net.
“These attempts have been ongoing for over a year, and the Russians are shifting the deadlines they set for capturing the city. These deadlines will continue to be postponed. Right now, they are pulling all available reserves there. Whether they will be able to create conditions to further complicate the circumstances is hard to predict,” Hnatov noted.
He also added that Ukraine has systematically resisted the aggressor's attempts since the beginning of the large-scale invasion in 2022 and during ATO/JFO. Despite pessimistic reports of 'everything is lost', the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fulfilling their tasks, inflicting significant losses on the enemy and slowing down its advance.
“Far from everything is perfect, but we are making every effort to fulfill the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” summed up the Chief of the General Staff.
In addition, the Russian army is putting pressure on Myrnograd in the Donetsk region. The enemy is trying to cut off the land connection between this city and Pokrovsk.
Russian troops intend to encircle the city, advancing towards the settlements of Rivne and Svitlyi.
The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. The Ukrainian army continues to deter the aggression of the opponent, although Russian troops are trying to strengthen their positions and reduce Ukraine's defensive capabilities. This underscores the importance of the readiness of Ukrainian forces for a prolonged struggle for every settlement in this region.
