Increase in enemy attacks in Pokrovske direction

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the number of enemy attacks as of 16:00 on August 28, 2024, has reached 111. Particularly active enemy actions are observed in the Pokrovske direction, where one-third of all attacks were registered. The enemy also shows activity in the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions.

Continuous air strikes in the Sumy region

The border areas of the Sumy region continue to suffer air strikes. Russian forces are using guided aerial bombs in the areas of Pustohorod, Bilopillia, Horyle, and Basivka.

Fighting in the Kharkiv direction

In the Kharkiv direction, two attempts to storm Ukrainian troop positions near Lyptsi and Vovchansk were registered. The enemy also used unguided aerial rockets from helicopters near Kozacha Lopan, Alisivka, and Kudiivka.

Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in the Kupiansk direction

The Kupiansk direction suffered 17 attacks. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy assaults near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka, and Kruhliakivka.

Combat actions in the Lyman direction

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked the areas of Druzhieliubivka, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, and Novosadove. Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight attacks since the beginning of the day.

Pokrovske direction - high enemy activity

In the Pokrovske direction, 34 attempts to break through the defense were recorded, the highest number for the day. Most attacks occurred near Selydove and Novohrodivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 23 attacks, but the fighting continues.

Kurakhove direction - fierce fighting near Karlivka

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy carried out 22 attacks. Fierce fighting continues near Karlivka.

Attacks in the Orikhiv direction

The enemy launched strikes in the Orikhiv direction, using guided aerial bombs in the village of Stepove. There were also two assaults near Robotyne and Novodanylivka.

Unguided aerial rocket strikes in the Prydniprovske direction

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions but carried out unguided aerial rocket strikes on Kozatske from a Su-25 attack aircraft.
