Hero of Ukraine Veres told whether the Armed Forces can return to pre-war borders.

Ukrainian Armed Forces: the goal is to preserve territory

Commander of the K-2 Battalion of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, Hero of Ukraine Kyrylo Veres, stated that the main task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine right now is to maintain the existing territory. He emphasized that there is no talk of restoring the borders of 1991 or 2022. Most commanders on the front line agree with this point of view. He also noted that his words do not concern the leadership of the country and are related only to the opinions of soldiers on the front line. Veres added that at the moment the army is not ready to liberate Ukraine to the borders of 1991.

In addition, Kyrylo Veres spoke about the conditions under which a ceasefire would be beneficial for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also shared his experiences of not following command orders and talked about his doubts and desire not to die in battles.
