Julia Donaldson writes a new book about Gruffalo: what is known about the continuation.
Julia Donaldson returns the image of Gruffalo to the pages of the book 20 years after its appearance in the last part of the series. This famous children's literary figure came into the world in 1999, but has already gained popularity and has been translated into many languages.
Both previous books were successful and even found their embodiment in theatrical productions and animated films, one of which was nominated for an Oscar.
The author herself admits that the idea for the new book came to her a long time ago, but she could not find the right plot for a long time. The main impetus for creating a new story was the decline of children's interest in reading, which was reported by the National Literacy Trust of the UK.
'Writing a sequel is always difficult. It's been more than 20 years since my last book, so I decided to return to the story of Gruffalo,' Donaldson stated.
The new book is expected to take readers back to the same mysterious forest where the first adventure began and will be filled with humor, fantasy, and clever children who outsmart dangerous opponents.
There is also an interesting story about the return of a book to the library after 95 years of absence, which took place in the state of New Jersey.
