Men in Soviet army uniforms in Mizhhiria
On May 9, in the village of Mizhhiria, two men were seen moving in the uniforms of Soviet army soldiers with St. George's ribbons. According to the police of the Transcarpathian region, the unknown individuals were spotted walking in such uniforms, and police officers and the Security Service of Ukraine arrived at the scene.
The law enforcement officials identified the men - a 58-year-old clergyman of the UOC (MP) from Mizhhiria and a 46-year-old resident of the village of Ternovo, Tyachiv district.
The police announced that the men deliberately chose Soviet uniforms with elements of banned symbolism to promote the communist totalitarian regime. The suspects were taken to the police station, and prohibited items were seized from their possession.
Illegal alienation of a temple in Kyiv region
The Security Service and the National Police uncovered the fact of the illegal alienation of a temple by one of the clerics of the Moscow church in Ukraine in the Kyiv region. The value of this property, which belongs to the local community, exceeds 7 million hryvnias.
As part of this investigation, the police department No. 2 of the Khust district police registered an offense according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation into this case is underway.
The actions of the law enforcement officials led to the exposure of two instances demonstrating attempts to revive patriotic values and preserve national memory.
