Hacker stole internal data from ChatGPT developer company.
Hacker stole information about artificial intelligence development at OpenAI
According to The New York Times, a hacker breached the OpenAI messaging system and stole data on the company's artificial intelligence technologies development. The incident occurred in the early stages of 2023.
Sources reported that the hacker had access to a discussion forum where employees discussed the latest OpenAI technologies. However, he could not penetrate the company's artificial intelligence systems.
OpenAI management informed employees and board members of the incident but decided not to make a public statement, as customer information was not compromised and the hacker was a private individual. The company did not involve the FBI or other law enforcement agencies.
Some employees were concerned that foreign adversaries, especially China, might steal artificial intelligence technology, posing a threat to U.S. national security. This incident also raised security concerns at OpenAI and exposed internal disagreements within the company regarding the risks of artificial intelligence.
It is worth noting that OpenAI has restricted access to its ChatGPT technology in China. It is also worth noting that Ukraine is one of the leading countries in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of artificial intelligence.
In addition, Time magazine has signed an agreement with OpenAI for the use of their content, giving ChatGPT producer access to the news content archive.
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, expressed the view that artificial intelligence can help combat climate change.
