Kharkiv Woman Committed Arsons on Orders from the Russian Federation - How the Court Punished Her.
A woman in Kharkiv committed a series of arsons on the orders of Russian special services. The court punished her with a lengthy imprisonment.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) on Wednesday, July 23.
Case Details
According to the investigation, a 25-year-old woman from Kharkiv, who was on probation due to a previous criminal case, agreed to collaborate with the enemy in search of 'easy money' via the Telegram messenger.
'In exchange for money, the occupiers instructed her to set fire to a local resident's car, which was parked near a multi-apartment building. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle, and the flames spread to a neighboring car.' - the report states.
The SSU emphasized that the next target was the relay cabinet of the alarm system of Ukrzaliznytsia, which was located in the industrial zone of Kharkiv. At night, the woman doused the railway equipment with gasoline and set it on fire. She recorded both arsons on video for reporting to her curator.
Court Decision
The court found the woman guilty under the article on sabotage committed under martial law and under the article on intentional destruction of property by arson, and sentenced her to 15 years and 1 month of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Since the defendant had an unexpunged conviction, another month of imprisonment was added to the new sentence.
Earlier in Kyiv, a woman was tried for setting fire to the cars of Ukrainian military personnel.
We also reported that in Odesa, a mother and daughter were conducting sabotage on behalf of the FSB.
The events described in the news indicate serious threats to Ukraine's national security. People who are willing to collaborate with Russian special services and commit sabotage create a significant danger to the state. It is crucial that such crimes are thoroughly investigated and that those responsible receive appropriate punishment.Read also
