Video of the incident, taken by a witness, shows how conversation turned into a brawl on August 6 around 4:30 PM on Hospitalstrasse, as reported by the German newspaper Bild.
The driver, apparently outraged, asked:
“I work here, and you call me a 'monkey'? If you're a man, put on boxing gloves and let's spar.”
He continued:
“I work, you can't hit like that,”pointing to his truck, which allegedly the man, 54, had previously damaged.
After that, the DHL driver lunged at the 42-year-old woman and hit her in the face. She screamed:
“Leave me alone. Go inside, don’t come near me.”
Her partner then demanded:
“Take your hand off my wife's face, buddy, very quickly.”
The driver provoked further:
“Do you want to hit me?”to which the woman replied:
“Do you think I have a problem with that? Don't try, you won't survive, get in your car.”
He responded:
“I'm a boxer, but I have surgery on my nose, I can't hit myself.”
The woman insulted him:
“Then put on boxing gloves, you won't survive if you step into the ring with me.”
Suddenly, the driver became aggressive, lunging at the woman and continuing his attack on her partner, pushing him over a hedge.

“I am a sick boxer.”
The police arrested the driver at the scene. DHL terminated his employment, and a colleague later picked up the truck.
Marta T., an 18-year-old witness to the incident, noted:
“The way the DHL driver suddenly and violently attacked was shocking. To hit a woman in the face without warning - I was in shock.”
A child in the couple's car, reportedly, was 'horrified,' she added.
The authorities have launched a criminal investigation into serious bodily harm.
Police spokesperson Marco Bischoff confirmed:
“The woman sustained minor injuries and required outpatient treatment at a hospital.”
The perpetrator, according to police, was previously known for assaults, thefts, and property damage.
DHL spokesperson Sarah Proys commented on the situation:
“We are shocked by what is shown in this video. As a company, we categorically reject any forms of violence and aggressive behavior.”
She also stated:
“Neither during recruitment nor later did we have any information that the former employee was known to the police or had committed offenses.”
‘I am a sick boxer,’ claimed the man

This incident highlights the rise of aggression in public places and the importance of prompt law enforcement response to attacks. Individuals who resort to violence disregard the safety of not only their victims but also those around them, so such cases require thorough investigation and appropriate sanctions. Accountability for such acts must be strict to prevent further escalations of violence in society.
