Horror moment heroic Israeli dad throws himself on grenade to save his sons in new vid showing Hamas depravity on Oct 7.
Heroic act of a father during the Hamas attack
According to The Sun: This moment is shocking: an Israeli firefighter jumps on a grenade to save his children during the brutal Hamas attacks on October 7.
Two scared brothers watched as terrorists broke into their home and killed their father, while one of the criminals calmly drank Coca-Cola.
Itay Beit-On (GPO) / Yehezkel Kandil (Sound, GPO)This horrific attack on the Taasa family was recorded during the bloody Hamas invasion but the footage was only shown to world leaders and diplomats recently.
Mother, Jane Taasa, decided to share this graphic video because she “wants to show the whole world the truth about what happened on October 7 in Israel.”
The recording became part of a 45-minute compilation of footage from horrific attacks nearly two years ago.
The security camera footage shows 46-year-old father Gil hurriedly ushering his children out of the house before the horrific incident.
His sons, 12-year-old Koren and 8-year-old Shay, were only wearing underwear as they ran to the bomb shelter around 6:30 AM.
However, just seconds later, a ruthless terrorist approaches them and throws a grenade.
The heroic firefighter, without hesitation, leaps onto the grenade, saving his children in this horrific moment.
Gil died instantly, and his children remained in blood and shrapnel.
After this, the Hamas militants forced the boys to return inside the house.
Inside, the brothers checked each other for injuries; Koren said he couldn't hear in one ear, and Shay admitted he had lost his sight.
Sabina later noted that the younger son's eye was “hanging half out of its socket.”
Koren desperately demands: “Please, please, let me go home!”
He cries: “My dad! My dad!”
When he tells his younger brother: “Daddy is gone, Shay. I’m not joking. This is not a joke,” Shay replies: “I know. I saw.”
Blood traces marked the floor as the terrified brothers wandered through the house.
At one point, a terrorist entered and asked if they wanted juice or wine, ignoring their cries for help.
Instead, he casually took a bottle of Coca-Cola from the fridge, took a sip, and walked out.
Although world leaders and journalists witnessed this disturbing video, it was not published in Israel due to the family's request.
Unfortunately, the Taasa family also lost their eldest son Or Taasa, 17, that same morning while he was heading out fishing with friends.
Sabina later testified at the UN in Geneva that Or was shot six times during his brutal killing.
“Is it normal? To shoot a 17-year-old child six times in the head?”
It is estimated that around 1,200 people were killed during the attacks on October 7, and about 251 were taken hostage.
In Israel, it is believed that 48 hostages are still in the Gaza Strip, of which only 20 are likely still alive.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated: “The campaign to bring back the hostages continues. We will not stop until we return all our hostages – both alive and dead.”
At the same time, Israeli forces began “initial stages” of an assault on Gaza City.
Following this, a representative of the IDF reported: “We will deepen our strikes and will not hesitate until we return all captives and until Hamas is crushed both militarily and politically.”
However, international pressure on Israel is rising due to the humanitarian disaster unfolding in Gaza.
The UN warned that about one million people may face displacement again.
A famine has been officially declared in Gaza for the first time.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an immediate ceasefire “to avoid deaths and destruction.”
The scale of suffering in Gaza has led previously reluctant countries to recognize a Palestinian state – among them France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
In conclusion, Israel claims that plans to attack Gaza are the only way to defeat Hamas.
Israel continues its offensive on Gaza
This tragedy demonstrates how important it is in an international context to understand the humanitarian consequences of the conflict. Many of those who die or are injured are ordinary people who have become hostages of a situation that is beyond their control. The situation in the region remains tense and requires urgent resolution to avoid further casualties and humanitarian disasters.
