The Temple in Cherkasy Region Renounced the Moscow Patriarchate.
In the city of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region, the Holy Assumption Cathedral, along with the community and parishioners, joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This news was reported by the representative of the chaplain service of the Cherkasy Tero, Volodymyr Pedko, on his Facebook page.
The transition to the OCU took place on September 3 without a priest. Pedko emphasized that the townspeople and military personnel already gather for prayer and called on everyone to do so. According to him, the temple in Zolotonosha is now Ukrainian.
Let us remind you that the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 8371 on the prohibition of activities of religious organizations that have a governing center in a state that commits aggression against Ukraine. This concerns the Moscow Church, which operates in Ukraine as the UOC-MP. Previously, residents of Shestovytsya had already decided to transition their parish to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
