Pension Indexation and Unified Social Payment: What Innovations Await Ukrainians.
The Government of Ukraine has announced a large-scale reform of social policy in 2025
The Government of Ukraine plans to carry out a reform of social policy in 2025. In particular, it will involve the indexation of pensions and the introduction of a cumulative pension system. This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on social media.
According to him, the indexation of pensions will take place as early as March this year. Legislative approval for the cumulative pension system is also planned, with further launch in the following year.
The Introduction of Basic Social Assistance and Expansion of the 'Affordable Medicines' Program
A significant innovation will be the project of basic social assistance. Instead of different payments allocated for families in difficult life circumstances, a single significant payment will be introduced. Shmyhal noted this.
The government will also allocate a record amount - 6.6 billion UAH - for the expansion of the 'Affordable Medicines' program in healthcare. Thanks to additional medical substances, 500 thousand Ukrainians will be able to reduce their treatment costs.
Attention to Veterans
Particular attention will also be paid to veteran policy. In 2025, the creation of veteran spaces at the district level, expansion of psychological support, and the launch of veteran care offices are planned. The opening of the National Military Memorial Cemetery for the burial of fallen heroes is also planned.
