Ryder Cup: how Trump's security will be ensured at the tournament for $10 million.
According to The Sun: Thousands of sports fans will come to Long Island to watch the best golfers from the USA and Europe compete in this year's Ryder Cup.
Among the spectators at the Bethpage Black golf course will be famous golf fan Donald Trump, whose presence will require serious security measures.
Tom FarmerThis year's Ryder Cup is taking place under heightened security threat in the USA, former Secret Service agents note.
After an assassination attempt on conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Trump also faced two attempts on his life during last year's presidential election.
According to former Secret Service agent Donald Lane, the cost of the security operation could reach $10 million.
Local, state, and federal agencies will participate in maintaining order. A team of Secret Service agents will escort Trump and monitor his activities.
Trump plans to arrive at Bethpage at 11:00 AM local time.
Lane also noted that his armored golf cart, known as Golf Force One, will likely appear at the event.
Fans will go through security checks similar to those at airports when entering one of the world's toughest golf courses.
“Metal detectors will be set up in some places; people will need to place their items in a tray and go through X-ray machines,” Lane said.
“Document checks may also occur.”
Trucks will be positioned around the perimeter of the field to obstruct visibility, the former agent explained.
“This is done so that no one can shoot from buildings.”
Hundreds of police from New York will be deployed on the 1,477-acre field, with snipers positioned and roads around closed.
Chemical response units are also planned.

Lane also reported that some items will be prohibited, including:
- Portable folding chairs
- Large vape devices
- Flame-type lighters
- Metal or hard plastic thermoses
- Large umbrellas (only small folding ones allowed)
- Bags and personal items will be subject to checks
- Laptops and tablets are prohibited on the Bethpage Black course
“Whenever such an event takes place, there is a probability that someone could use biological or chemical weapons,” Lane noted.
Meanwhile, Timothy Miller, a former Secret Service agent with thirty years of experience, added that there are invisible security measures in place.
“You won’t find out about them,” he stated.
Observers note that this year's Ryder Cup is taking place against a backdrop of high risk for public safety.
Many people will opt to use public transportation to reach their destination: Long Island Rail Road trains heading to Ronkonkoma stop at Farmingdale station, which is approximately two and a half miles from the golf course.
Free buses will transport fans to the course.
“We are a divided nation,” Miller warned.
“If we do not stop this, America could degrade quickly, as the primary duty of the government is to ensure the safety of its people.”
Thousands of fans heading to Bethpage Black will face serious restrictions due to Trump's planned presence.
Transfers might be complicated by barriers that are planned to be set up at the event site.

About 250,000 spectators are expected to attend the three-day tournament, and fans are advised to use public transport whenever possible.
The Ryder Cup organizers urge caution and to plan trips in advance, as extensive security measures may affect the convenience of visitor movements.
