Intensive work with Trump's team: Zelensky spoke about negotiations for peace and security.
Zelensky explained the defense against the Russian attack and the support for achieving peace
In his address on March 7, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported on the defense against the Russian attack, the support, and the diplomatic efforts to achieve peace.
During a meeting of the Supreme Command, the Russian strike and the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense were analyzed. According to the president, Russia used over 260 aerial assault weapons, including missiles and drones.
'Our military responded to the strike as professionally as possible. The strike was comprehensively repelled. In particular, fighter jets – F-16 and French "Mirages" were deployed, which have proven themselves very well today,' noted Zelensky.
The president praised the work of the fighter pilots, helicopter crews, electronic warfare departments, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian army. He especially thanked the 160th Anti-Missile Odessa Brigade, the 208th Anti-Missile Kherson Brigade, and the 540th Anti-Missile Lviv Brigade.
The president reported that Ukraine is actively working to ensure the supply of air defense means. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov is in negotiations with partners regarding new support packages.
Zelensky also noted that international support for Ukraine has increased. Norway has raised its support to $7.7 billion for arms production in Ukraine, the Netherlands to €700 million for drone production, and France for security assistance.
'Today, the most intensive work with President Trump's team is underway – many calls. The topic is clear – peace as soon as possible, security as reliably as possible. Ukraine is maximally constructive,' emphasized the president.
Zelensky also remarked that in the next week there will be 'a lot of work' in Europe, with America, and in Saudi Arabia, where a meeting is being prepared to accelerate the process of ensuring peace and strengthening security foundations.
