Iran’s Military Support and the Situation in the Strait of Hormuz

According to UATV: Global concern is rising as Iran receives military backing from Russia and China amid its standoff with Israel and the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Tehran will get support from both nations. At the same time, Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a vital corridor for international oil shipments, particularly affecting vessels from the U.S., Israel, and their allies.

Roughly one-fifth of the world’s seaborne oil passes through this strategic waterway. Closing it poses major risks to energy supplies, especially for Asian markets. China, which relies on the Strait for about 90% of its oil imports, could face significant disruption. According to estimates, 85% of the oil and gas moving through the strait is destined for Asian countries.

Iran’s Stance and International Reactions

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that Iran wants to strike a deal with Washington, claiming the country is 'completely defeated.' Iran, however, denies this. Abbas Araghchi stated:

“There is no reason to negotiate with the American side, so Iran will fight as long as necessary.”
This position underscores Tehran’s resolve on matters of national security and foreign policy.

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has also alarmed international experts. Leaders like Kaja Kallas have warned that

“closing the Strait of Hormuz represents a serious threat to oil and energy supplies to Asia.”
Tensions in the region remain high, and how events unfold could significantly impact the global economy and energy markets.

The situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s military support from Russia and China reflects escalating global geopolitical tensions. Blocking the strait could have severe consequences not only for the countries directly involved in the conflict but also for world markets, especially regarding energy security. Analysts and researchers are already highlighting potential impacts on oil prices and overall stability in the region, which could trigger economic turmoil in many nations.
