Tehran Denies Trump’s Claims of Negotiations, Vows to Defend Itself.
Iran’s Stance on Foreign Policy
According to TSN.ua: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has rejected statements made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who alleged that Tehran had sought a ceasefire or talks with Washington. During an interview with CBS, Araghchi stressed that Iran never made such requests and remains prepared to defend itself for as long as necessary.
Security in the Strait of Hormuz
Araghchi revealed that several countries have approached Iran asking for safe passage for their oil and gas vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
“A number of nations have contacted us, seeking secure transit for their ships,” the minister said.He added that the final decision on vessel movement rests with the military, which has already authorized a group of ships from various countries to pass safely.
Russia and China are actively supporting Iran through military cooperation. Meanwhile, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, continues to strengthen the country’s regional position.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical chokepoint for global energy supplies, as a substantial share of the world’s oil traffic moves through this waterway. Iran’s engagement with nations requesting maritime security may signal a shift in Tehran’s foreign policy as it seeks to bolster its influence and standing in the region. At the same time, close collaboration with Russia and China could shape Iran’s future relations with the West, particularly regarding its nuclear program and international sanctions.
