ISW assessed whether Russia will abandon the capture of Pokrovsk.
Russia continues active efforts to capture Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. This information is confirmed by analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). They emphasize that the Russian command plans to continue offensive operations to achieve this goal over the next six years.
Despite this, analysts are confident that the Kremlin will not stop in the face of serious losses, as their broader aim is to capture the entire Donetsk region.
ISW reports that Russian troops have already begun offensive operations and are gradually advancing west and northwest of Selydove, approaching Pokrovsk. They also note that Russian military controls several villages.
Information about battles in the direction of Shevchenko and in the center of the village is reported by Russian military bloggers, but this data has not yet been confirmed.
The situation remains tense, and hostilities continue.
