Today, Odessa region said farewell to Kostiantyn Oborin - the director of the 'Odessa' flying club, who died defending Ukraine at the front. The serviceman was the commander of the squadron that shoots down enemy drones over the region.
This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper.
The Death of Kostiantyn Oborin
Kostiantyn Oborin was a true patriot of Ukraine, a military officer, and director of the 'Odessa' flying club, who died while carrying out a combat mission. The serviceman was the head of the Afghanistan Veterans Union and a participant in combat operations in that country. In 2014, he rescued 29 Ukrainian soldiers from captivity, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he went to war as the commander of the squadron that defends the sky over Odessa and shoots down enemy 'shaheds'.
'A painful loss for our region and country. I am sure that his good and important deeds will live on and be realized by the teams he raised and trained. Sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, and fellow soldiers', - wrote the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Oleg Kiper.
Kostiantyn Oborin remained at the front lines until his last days. He was 63 years old.
