The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved new rules for trade services to the population, which is an important step in modernizing the trade sector. According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the updated rules will come into force after the end of martial law, together with the updated law on consumer protection.

Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna emphasized the importance of these changes. She noted that the new rules will not only protect consumer rights but also promote business development, fair competition, and the prevention of corruption.

The document focuses on creating a barrier-free environment. For example, shops and catering establishments must have ramps for persons with disabilities and parking spaces. There should also be the possibility of receiving assistance from the seller for people with limited mobility. Mobile trading points should not obstruct the movement of low-mobility groups to transport and other infrastructure facilities.

Digitalization of information support for consumers is also planned through the implementation of QR codes. However, there remains the possibility of obtaining information in paper format.

The reforms also envisage improving the organization of trade regarding the storage of workers' belongings and the use of certified measuring instruments. Companies engaged in network trading must have warehouse facilities and regulated conditions for product delivery.

The new rules also regulate wholesale trading through online stores. The sale of products that look like food but are actually unsuitable for consumption is prohibited to protect children from potential danger.
