Canada takes the stance: Consumers are ignoring the US trading giant.
Most buyers in Canada reported that they are starting to buy fewer goods from the US and are ordering less frequently from Amazon.com Inc. They made this decision due to the degrading comments of the new US President Donald Trump about Canada and the introduction of new tariffs on imports. This was reported by the Vancouverok website referring to a survey by the company Leger Marketing.
The study showed that two-thirds of Canadian consumers have started to buy American goods in stores less frequently, and 55% order fewer goods from Amazon.
Many Canadians are angry about Trump's threats against Canada. He even suggested making Canada the 51st state of the USA, which sparked a wave of patriotism in a country of 41 million people. As a result, Canadians are actively discussing on social media a list of Canadian products, canceling or postponing trips to the USA, and expressing their discontent over the US anthem.
Furthermore, stores in Canada began to remove American goods from the shelves.
