A Ukrainian artist created a painting for the 50 euro banknote in Germany

Ukrainian artist Iryna Fedorenco created a series of works titled 'Children of War'. One of these paintings will be used to create a regional 50 euro banknote in Germany. This was reported by the artist herself.

According to Iryna, this money has a higher collectible value rather than a monetary one. You won't find them in regular circulation.

The series of paintings 'Children of War' has already been presented at various exhibitions around the world, including Germany. Iryna was offered to use one of her works for the 50 euro banknote in 2025. The official presentation of this banknote will take place later, but Iryna was invited to observe the process of its creation.

Through her paintings, Iryna aims to draw attention to the war and remind people about life in her native Mariupol and in Ukraine as a whole. The painting 'Child', which will be depicted on the banknote, is one of many paintings from the series 'Children of War'. The artist claims that she does not give names to her paintings, as they speak for themselves.

Iryna Fedorenco was born in Mariupol, lived and worked in Kyiv, but left Ukraine due to the Russian invasion. She now lives with her son and mother in Munich. Her works can be seen at exhibitions in Munich and Bremen.
