Fuel Cashback Program Ends: 2.3 Million Ukrainians Benefited.
Fuel Cashback Program Concludes
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's fuel cashback initiative, which ran from March 20 to May 31, has officially ended. This program served as a key financial support mechanism during the worst global oil crisis in 50 years. A total of 2.3 million Ukrainians took advantage of the opportunity to reduce their fuel expenses.
Participants saved between 5% and 15% on fuel costs, depending on the type. Notably, 91% of users were owners of economy-class vehicles. The program also led to the opening of roughly 500,000 new National Cashback cards, reflecting strong public interest.
Government Social Initiatives
Separately, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1 billion hryvnias to modernize 73 school kitchen facilities, and starting September 1, all students will receive free meals. Additionally, on May 15, the government permitted all women to travel abroad, marking a significant policy shift.
“The fuel cashback program was a temporary anti-crisis tool to provide financial support to Ukrainians during the worst global oil crisis in 50 years,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
The end of the fuel cashback program underscores the government's efforts to mitigate the impact of the global oil crisis and provide financial relief to citizens. Amid economic challenges like rising energy prices, such support initiatives are crucial. Furthermore, the Cabinet's plans to upgrade school kitchens and introduce free meals for students highlight its commitment to improving the country's social infrastructure.
