Winter Heating Crisis in Kyiv: Half a Million Troieshchyna Residents Among Thousands Affected.
Kyiv's Heating Supply Issues
According to Novyny.live: This winter, residents of Kyiv, particularly in the Troieshchyna district, have faced severe heating supply problems due to complications within the energy system. Approximately half a million people in Troieshchyna were left without heat, causing significant hardship. In total, 140 thousand apartments or 825 residential buildings in this area lacked heating. The managing company reported that during the heating season, the heating system had to be restarted four times, requiring the complete draining and refilling of all buildings.

Issues in Other Districts
Heating supply problems have not been confined to Troieshchyna but have also been observed in other districts of the capital. Specifically, heating difficulties persist in:
- Dniprovskyi
- Darnytskyi
It is expected that over a thousand residential buildings in Kyiv will remain without a stable heat supply until the end of the heating season. This situation highlights the strain on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which has faced repeated attacks in recent years.
The official heating season in Ukraine runs from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Given the current challenges, ensuring a stable heat supply for all capital residents is critically important. The heating problems in Kyiv point to broader difficulties within the energy infrastructure that can significantly impact residents' quality of life. The situation in Troieshchyna and other districts presents a challenge not only for local authorities but for the state as a whole, as providing warmth during winter is essential. Resolving these issues will require concerted efforts from energy companies and local governments, along with potential investments to modernize heating systems.
