Kiev Ring Railway becomes more expensive: New ticket prices and savings tips.
Adjustments to the fare prices of the Kiev suburban train
According to TSN.ua: Using the Kiev Ring Railway now incurs additional fees. The reason for this is the introduction of a processing fee. Passengers are already receiving notifications about the updated tariffs that affect the ticket costs.
New price structure for tickets
How much does a ride cost now? A paper ticket at the counters or machines costs 22 Hryvnia. Those who pay contactless with a bank card at the validator get the ticket cheaper for 19.19 Hryvnia. The cheapest option is the digital ticket through the 'Kyjiw Digital' app – here users only pay 15 Hryvnia.
Is the old price still worthwhile? Given the increased costs, passengers can save by switching to the mobile ticket in the app. At the same time, Kiev also plans to increase minibus fares by 5 Hryvnia.
The new tariffs for the Ring Railway reflect the general trend of rising expenses for public transport in the capital.
The introduction of the processing fee and the higher prices for minibuses could influence residents' decisions on which mode of transport to choose. This, in turn, may change the overall usage of public transport. Travelers are advised to pay attention to savings opportunities through electronic tickets, which are becoming increasingly popular among passengers.
In addition to the Ring Railway, fares for Kiev minibuses have also increased, which is likely to further influence transport mode choices.
