Kyiv Metro Announces Schedule Adjustments

According to Novyny.live: Due to a severe strain on the city's power grid, the Kyiv Metro will operate on a modified schedule on January 20. This follows a night of Russian attacks on the capital using drones and ballistic missiles, which caused power and water outages on the left bank, triggered fires, and resulted in one civilian injury. These disruptions are part of a wider campaign targeting Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

Revised Train Intervals

The service changes for the Kyiv Metro on January 20 are as follows:

  • On the Red Line, trains will run at intervals of 4 minutes 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
  • After an air raid alert is lifted, two shuttle trains will operate between the 'Livoberezhna' and 'Arsenalna' stations to transport passengers from the left to the right bank, with intervals of 20-25 minutes. These trains will not stop at the 'Hidropark' and 'Dnipro' stations.
  • On the Green Line during an alert, intervals will be 7 minutes between the 'Syrets' and 'Vydubychi' stations, and 10 minutes between the 'Osokorky' and 'Chervonyi Khutir' stations.
  • No schedule changes are planned for the Blue Line.

These measures are designed to ensure passenger safety and comfort amid the capital's challenging energy situation.

The metro schedule adjustments reflect the broader reality in Ukraine, where energy infrastructure remains under persistent attack. Adapting transit operations is a necessary step to protect the public and optimize transportation under difficult conditions. Passengers are urged to stay informed of these changes and follow official guidance to ensure their safety while traveling across the city.
