The number of casualties from the earthquake in Myanmar has exceeded 1600 people.

According to 'Hlavkom', citing Reuters, 1644 people have died as a result of the earthquake in Myanmar.
The United States Geological Survey predicts that the death toll could exceed 10,000, and the damage will surpass the country's annual economic output.
According to LBC, 3408 people have sustained various injuries, and at least 139 people are considered missing. Search efforts are ongoing.
The authorities have declared a state of emergency and have asked organizations and countries wishing to help the victims. The number of victims may increase.
Foreign rescue teams have arrived in Myanmar to assist in the search for survivors.
In neighboring Thailand, nine people were killed as a result of the earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale, which destroyed buildings and a skyscraper in the capital Bangkok. 30 people are trapped under the rubble, and 49 are considered missing.
