Kim Jong Un is ready to meet with Trump: but on one condition.
Kim Jong Un is ready for new negotiations with Trump
According to The Sun: The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, stated his readiness to hold a new meeting with Donald Trump, but on the condition of maintaining his nuclear arsenal.
Kim also mentioned that he has 'pleasant memories' of previous meetings with Trump, who has repeatedly expressed a desire to restore relations with the 'little rocket man'.

Kim has repeatedly refused to abandon his nuclear program.
Trump and Kim previously had productive relations: they held three meetings during Trump's presidency.
They even shook hands in the demilitarized zone of the Korean Peninsula before negotiations collapsed in 2019.
However, later their cooperation soured due to U.S. demands for North Korea to abandon its nuclear program.
In August, Trump stated he wants to meet with Kim again and is convinced that he knows him 'better than anyone'.
Kim is also willing to resume communication, but with conditions. He noted:
“If the United States gives up its illusory obsession with denuclearization and, recognizing reality, genuinely wishes for peaceful coexistence with us, then there is no reason why we cannot meet.”
Additionally, he emphasized:
“The world already knows well what the United States does after forcing a country to abandon its nuclear weapons.”
In 2018, Kim offered to close his largest nuclear plant in exchange for a partial lifting of UN economic sanctions. However, Trump refused, insisting on an 'all or nothing' deal for complete denuclearization.
Since then, Kim has ramped up production of nuclear warheads to 20 per year, according to South Korea.
Kim also noted that he sees no point in meeting with South Korea, which is regarded as the main enemy, even despite the efforts of the new president Lee Jae-myung to ease tensions.
He assured:
“We clearly make it known that we will not hold any negotiations with them.”

In conclusion, Kim noted that everyone was in a frenzy during their last meeting with Trump in 2019 at the demilitarized zone when he crossed the line. He said:
“Do you remember when I crossed the border, and everyone was in a frenzy?”
Kim admitted that he really liked it.
Thus, the situation between North Korea and the USA remains tense. Kim Jong Un's position, which has no intention of abandoning nuclear weapons, raises doubts about the future of negotiations. At the same time, Trump’s desire to restore dialogue may indicate a growing need for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
