Kyrylo Budanov’s Message on Civil Service Day

According to Novyny.live: On the occasion of Civil Service Day, Kyrylo Budanov expressed gratitude to public officials for their essential work during the war and for the challenges that lie ahead in rebuilding the nation. His statement was published on the News.LIVE website. Budanov stressed that the post-war reconstruction phase will demand strong institutions and highly skilled personnel.

Having spent most of his life as a military officer, Budanov highlighted the critical importance of uninterrupted work by civil servants.

“The state is a complex machine that cannot afford to stop, especially now,” he said.
He also emphasized the value of honest, dedicated, and professional service to one’s country:
“It is important to serve your country with honesty, devotion, and professionalism.”

Declining an Honor

In addition, Budanov turned down the Golden Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Poland. This decision came in response to a statement by Polish official Karol Nawrocki. According to Budanov, such choices reflect a responsible approach to duty and underscore the role of civil servants during difficult times.

Budanov’s remarks underscore how crucial civil servants are in maintaining stability and driving Ukraine’s recovery amid war. Observing Civil Service Day signals the country’s commitment to strengthening institutions and attracting qualified talent to tackle challenges arising from the conflict. His refusal of the award can be seen as a gesture of responsibility and a reaffirmation of the importance of serving one’s nation—a message that resonates deeply in the current context.
