China Provides Russia with $10.3 Billion in Hypersonic Missile Technology.
China and Russia Deepen Collaboration on Hypersonic Weapons
According to TSN.ua: China is supplying Russia with critical equipment and technology for the production of hypersonic missiles, which Moscow uses to project power and intimidate the West. The total value of these shipments from China is approximately $10.3 billion. This growing military partnership is a significant development in global geopolitics, raising concerns among Western allies. The supplies include:
- Microchips and memory boards valued at over $4.9 billion;
- Machine tools worth more than $3.1 billion, delivered to Moscow during the first three years of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
One of the resulting missiles deployed by Russian forces is the "Oreshnik," which can travel at speeds exceeding 8,000 miles per hour. This weapon is capable of carrying up to six warheads, highlighting its destructive potential in modern warfare. The flow of technology and equipment from Beijing underscores a strengthening defense alliance between the two nations.
Dong Jun, a Chinese representative, stated that 'Beijing and Moscow should jointly enhance their capabilities to counter various risks and challenges.'
These developments illustrate an escalating military cooperation between China and Russia, with serious potential implications for global security and the international political climate. This is particularly concerning given the already tense relations between the West and these two powers. Russia's growing capacity to manufacture advanced weaponry, bolstered by Chinese technology, could alter the regional balance of power and present new challenges for the international community.
